HELP SUPPORT THE WORK OF NIYLP

DONATE

We donate our services

NIYLP works with Native groups, across the mainland US, Hawaii and Canada, many of them can’t afford to bring our program to the young people of their community. An initial consultation, either by phone or on site is the first step to allow our staff to assess the capacity of the community to implement, support and sustain a life-changing program, like Project Venture. Many of the youth in Native communities are struggling with poverty, and accompanying issues of substance abuse, suicide, teen pregnancy and school failure combined with a breakdown of traditional culture and support systems. NIYLP often waives the cost of a site visit, or helps the community write the proposal that will secure the funding to get a program started. These costs are not covered by our current funding sources, but we often agree to forego payment to enable us to get started with the assessment and planning process. Our grant writer and evaluator often donate their services to support start up programs. Your donation also helps support travel to remote locations to assess the capacity to begin the Project Venture program in a needy community.

Donations can also be made through the Combined Federal Campaign and Human Service Charities CFC #11972. Federal employees can designate NIYLP as their charity to support. NIYLP can also accept donations of vehicles, subject to the regulations of the state where you live. NIYLP has an aging fleet of 10 vehicles, mainly vans and 4x4 SUV’s. Most are approaching 100,000 miles and are in need of repair or replacement.

Many of our funding sources do not, by policy, provide adequate administrative support. Adminstrative costs include insurance, Workmans Comp, Annual Audit expenses, etc.
