Why I do this work. I value integrity and do my best to practice that with a cheerful heart. I returned to Project Venture after working as a mentor with an A+ program when I was a high school student. What keeps me going is the positive impact we have on youth and communities. It is rewarding to hear parents and youth share their positive changes, stories and experiences.
Tasha is a Senior Experiential Educator.
I work in the Window Rock Unified School District at Tséhootsooí Middle School and with the NACA schools serving Dził Dtił’ooí School of Empowerment, Action and Perserverance in Navajo, NM. I facilitate positive youth development activities and outdoor adventure learning on hiking, leave no trace ethics, mountain biking, archery, rappelling and orienteering.
I'm certified both as a Wilderness First Responder with WMI/NOLS and Mental Health First Aid, along with Basic Archery Instructor with National Archery in the Schools Program, and National Student Assistance Program & Group Facilitator Training.
When I'm not at project venture you can find me outdoors hiking with my 6 dogs, mountain biking, hanging out with family, watching baseball games and helping the youth ministry at my church. I also love my Heavenly Creator, husband Matt, my family, and dogs!
