About me.

I am Naakai dine'é – The Mexican clan; born for the Ta'neeszahnii – the Tangle clan. My maternal grandparent’s clan is Bit'ahnii - Under His Cover clan, and my paternal grandparent’s clan is Mą'ii deeshgiizhinii – the Coyote Pass clan.

Why I do this work.

I truly enjoy watching the personal growth and transformation of each student through the activities and values Project Venture promotes. I have personally seen the positive impact PV has had on each participant and their communities, encouraging them to unearth their inner strengths by overcoming their fears, and embracing their own self-perception within their environment. It is extremely rewarding to me to encourage and nurture this new self-discovery, and I am honored to be a part of Project Venture.

Terri is an Experiential Educator.

I assist in facilitation mainly with the Rock Point Community Schools and Wingate Middle School, but I also provide support for other school sites within New Mexico and Arizona.

Alongside other PV staff, I help guide students to develop positive communication skills, explore their cultural identity, and learn to problem solve as a group, through various physical challenges and team building activities provided in the classroom and various outdoor settings such as hiking, mountain biking, and climbing. I am certified as a NOLS Wilderness First Responder, and I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts and Animation from the Academy of Arts University.

When I’m not at Project Venture, I spend time with my family and friends. When I’m indoors I immerse myself in drawing, painting, crafting, 3D modeling, cooking and tending my plants. I also enjoy the outdoors, breathing the fresh air, hiking, rollerblading and going on road trips.
