About Me
I am an enrolled member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe, which is located within the boundaries of the Wind River Reservation in west central Wyoming.
Neal is certified with WMI/NOLS as a Wilderness First Responder and has multiple trainings: Rope Course and Canyon Training from the Mountain High Program, Fort Wingate, NM; John Stokes Tracking Project in Canyon De Chelly, AZ; Risk Management training, Jackson Hole, WY; and primitive living skills from Cody Lunden, Gallup, NM.
Why I do this work.
I fully and wholeheartedly believe in Project Venture and our process of experiential education and that positive change is always possible with a positive approach. PV encourages local cultures and traditions be included in the development of different community programs. I love visiting other communities, and seeing all the beautiful places where PV can thrive.
Neal is director of technical training and assistance.
I spend my days leading and assisting other PV staff with the middle school programming, both in school and after school, as well as the day-long outings for students. I train other communities how to implement PV through our three- and four-day workshops.
When I’m not at Project Venture
you can find me at home with family, unplugged from work. You can also find me outside enjoying nature. I love to explore unseen areas and hike in different places that I haven’t yet experienced. My job is guiding people through experiences, giving so much energy to others that when I return home, I make an effort to stay away from crowded places and focus on my family. Where I would like to be most often is home in Wyoming where there are so many beautiful places on my reservation.
