1 Day Session - Applying the Project Venture Curriculum: Planning, Structuring, and Delivery (Virtual)

Effective planning is a best practice for Project Venture practitioners. This course provides an in-depth exploration of how to intentionally apply the Project Venture curriculum throughout the planning, structuring, and delivery of programming. Participants will learn how to use the curriculum as a framework, incorporating cultural teachings, stories, and community values to enhance relevance and engagement. Practitioners will gain a deeper understanding of how Project Venture’s structure and delivery methods support meeting participants where they are, while adapting to the unique needs of each group. The Project Venture curriculum serves as a foundational tool for meaningful community building, prevention efforts, and strengthening cultural connections.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and apply Project Venture fundamentals in alignment with the curriculum.
  • Develop a structured plan for a programming year using the Project Venture curriculum.
  • Generate strategies for integrating cultural relevance and local teachings into curriculum sessions.
  • Plan and structure a multi-day camp experience using Project Venture principles and curriculum resources.

At Project Venture, we have adapted, replicated and implemented the PV model in hundreds of Indigenous communities across 25 states, 8 Canadian provinces, Hungary, and Jamaica since the program's inception in 1988. We have developed a comprehensive training program that enables Indigenous facilitators to adapt our model to their community’s specific needs and traditions.

Project Venture’s training protocol consists of workshops and regular check-ins to enhance skills, share resources and materials, and nurture the broader Project Venture community.
